3RD ANNUAL SURF FILM FESTIVAL

We are looking forward to our 3rd annual Surf Film Festival screening July 9 to July 31. It’s our best lineup ever with nine Hawaii premieres and one world premiere. Besides bringing the most visually exciting surf films to Honolulu, this festival explores a rich variety of subjects—pro surfers who surf with soul; artists who surf; eco-adventure surfers; surfers who brave extreme winter weather in Ireland and Ohio; orphans from Mexico and poverty-stricken street children from Bangladesh who learn how to surf; a classic vintage surf film, and a surf film with gorgeous vintage surf footage from Bud Browne.

Don’t forget to order your tickets for opening night on July 9 when there will be free beer and wine courtesy of our sponsors Kona Brewing Company and Barefoot & Bubbly! Nathan Apffel, director of Lost Prophets, will introduce the film and be available afterwards for a q&a!

And if you buy a festival pass—just $55 for 11 screenings, which works out to just $5 a pop—you will automatically be entered in a drawing to win a Wade Tokoro surfboard. To purchase a Surf Film Festival pass online, click here.

In the middle of the festival we are also screening Ingredients, the award-winning documentary directed by part-time Hawaii resident Robert Bates about communities and celebrity chefs that are reconnecting with local food growers.
