Get Involved
The Hawai`i Capital Cultural Coalition has no formal membership requirements; anyone interested is welcome to get involved. Some of the ways you can become a partner with HCCC include:
- Provide testimony in support of designation for the Hawai`i Capital National Heritage Area.
The legislation for NHA designation will be submitted to Congress in early 2009. It will be important to demonstrate strong support from for this bill from Hawai`i residents. Please consider submitting your testimony in favor of designation. We will provide details via email and on our website on when and how to submit testimony as they become available.
- Participate in the coalition meetings.
Open meetings of the Hawai`i Capital Cultural Coalition are held periodically throughout the year to update coalition participants on progress, do collaborative planning, and provide an opportunity to exchange information. Please forward your email address to receive regular notice of meetings, or view the website calendar.
- Work on a project committee.
Standing Committees and issue work groups are made up of volunteers from member organizations and the community to address key issues. They research best practices, identify solutions, and work collaboratively with strategic partners to implement the project. To get involved on an issue, contact the HCCC Coordinator. Committees are described on the back of this sheet.
- Partner on a project or event.
List your event on the joint website calendar, become a partner in an HCCC project or program, or consider how your heritage program can benefit from strategic collaboration with other HCCC partners.
- Be a sponsor.
A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available, either for general support or for project-specific items. In-kind donations are also welcome.
